Doctrine
The Doctrine of Grace Bible Church of Lakewood
The doctrinal statement of this fellowship recognizes the fundamentals of the Christian faith, including (But not necessarily limited to):
- The verbal, plenary inspiration of the scriptures, the deity of Lord Jesus Christ, the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit
- The redemption by Grace through faith in the shed blood and finished work of Christ
- The bodily resurrection of the dead, the eternal security of the saved, and the eternal separation from God of the unsaved
- We recognize and emphasize the distinctive ministry and message given by the risen Christ through the Apostle Paul, thusly, we believe that the Universal Church, taking the form of the Body of Christ, began with the salvation of the Apostle Paul (in Acts 9) before he wrote his first epistle
- We adhere to Dispensationalism as a method of "interpreting scripture by use of scripture." This answers most of the problems presented by the seemingly contradictions in the Bible, higher and lower criticism. Our church believe in "rightly dividing the Word of God," but welcomes the full open debate of scripture in context and content
- We affirm that a person becomes a member of the body of Christ by one divine and solitary, spiritual baptism at the very moment of a person's conversion
- We do not practice so-called "signs and wonders," believing them to have "paused" until the "fullness of the gentiles is completed" according to God's timeline
- We are premillenial and pretribulation in our views of the end times. As such, we fully endorse the "Rapture of the Church" prior to the tribulation
- This particular fellowship also believes that the female gender can and should be elevated to all roles in leadership
- This particular fellowship also teaches and believes in "open theology," meaning that God has not predestined anything other than in or by a cooperative manner. Israel, the sacrifice of Christ, and The Universal Body of Christ are the predestinated programs. We reject all five points of Calvinism and do not endorse Armenianism
One does not have to believe in or adhere to our doctrine to become a member of our church. However, leadership positions do require that one endorse our doctrine, constitution and by-laws.
Grace Bible Church does not discriminate as to its worship, welcoming anyone desiring to do so with us
